About ClearSpace
ClearSpace is a Swiss company founded in 2018 by former EPFL researchers developing technology for active orbital debris removal. The company was selected by ESA for the ClearSpace-1 mission — the world's first commercial debris removal contract — to capture and deorbit a Vespa payload adapter left in orbit by VEGA in 2013. ClearSpace's servicer uses a four-arm robotic capture mechanism and will deorbit the 100 kg target by dragging it into the atmosphere.
