China Academy of Space Technology (CAST)

China Academy of Space Technology (CAST, 中国空间技术研究院) is a Chinese state-owned space research and manufacturing organisation under the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), headquartered in Beijing, responsible for designing, developing, and manufacturing China's satellites and spacecraft. CAST develops the DFH-4 and DFH-5 geostationary satellite buses used for Chinese and export communication satellites, Tianzhou cargo spacecraft for the Chinese Space Station, Beidou navigation satellites, Fengyun meteorological satellites, Ziyuan Earth observation satellites, and scientific/deep space probes. As China's primary spacecraft manufacturer, CAST serves the Chinese government, international customers, and CASC's commercial subsidiaries with satellite platforms, payload integration, and spacecraft systems.
