Chascii

Chascii Inc. is an American space technology company headquartered in Pasadena, California, founded in 2022 as a spin-off from NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) by Dr. Jose Velazco, a former JPL space technologist. The company is developing the INSPIRE (Interplanetary Networks for Space Internet and Space Positioning) all-optical communications network, designed to span ground, air, and space layers from low Earth orbit through cislunar space and beyond using free-space optical terminals to establish high-bandwidth, interference-resistant laser communication links. Chascii's INSPIRE network architecture is covered by US Patent No. 12,015,472 B2 granted in June 2024. The company is developing the SpheroSat, a 6U CubeSat serving as the building block for the INSPIRE constellation in orbit, with prototype development beginning in March 2024. Chascii has partnered with Curtin University in Australia and with Binar Space for optical communications demonstrations in LEO, and began deployment of optical ground infrastructure in December 2025 as the initial phase of the INSPIRE network buildout.
