CALT (China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, 中国运载火箭技术研究院) is China's primary state-owned launch vehicle design and manufacturing organisation headquartered in Beijing, operating as a subsidiary of CASC (China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation) and responsible for the research, development, testing, and production of the Long March family of launch vehicles including LM-2C, LM-2D, LM-2E, LM-2F (crewed missions), LM-3A, LM-3B, LM-3C, LM-5, LM-5B, LM-7, LM-7A, LM-8, and LM-11 rockets, with over 130 Long March launches since 1970. CALT engineers are responsible for the heavy-lift Long March 5 (China's most powerful operational rocket), the crewed Long March 2F that launches Shenzhou spacecraft and crew to the Chinese Space Station, and the reusable Long March 8R designed for commercial rideshare and future recovery. As the engineering backbone of China's national space launch capability, CALT serves China's civil, military, and commercial space programmes across crewed spaceflight, GEO satellite deployment, deep space exploration, and commercial LEO rideshare missions.
