Spark Battery Passivator
Description
The Spark Battery Passivator is a passive end-of-life safety device that safely and completely discharges lithium-ion and lithium-polymer batteries on satellites after mission conclusion. By eliminating stored electrical energy, the Spark prevents battery explosions that contribute to orbital debris clouds. The device is triggered by a simple ground command and operates without active electronics, ensuring reliability across all mission phases.
