Artemis CubeSat Kit

The Artemis CubeSat Kit is an open-source, space-ready satellite package developed by the Hawaii Space Flight Laboratory (HSFL) at the University of Hawaii, designed to broaden accessibility to space and aerospace education. The kit provides a complete, functional small satellite system compliant with CubeSat Kit Bus (CSKB) standards, integrating power, communications, thermal management, onboard computing, and payload subsystems. Artemis CubeSat Kit supports hands-on learning in spacecraft systems and space science and is used in an online spacecraft design course intended to expand aerospace education access nationwide. The kit's commercial availability and purchasing support are handled by Mahina Aerospace, the HSFL spinoff company. Students and educational institutions can adapt the kit for various space technology challenges, enabling practical satellite development experience at accessible cost.
