The company was founded by Aila Raquel (CEO), who leads Alya Space's mission to leverage small satellites to generate actionable data for environmental and climate applications. Alya Space is building a planned constellation of 216 nanosatellites in low Earth orbit designed to provide global coverage for environmental monitoring, climate change observation, and data relay services. The company operates from Salvador, Bahia, in Brazil's Northeast region, contributing to the diversification of Brazil's space industry beyond its traditional center in Sao Jose dos Campos. Alya Space is part of Brazil's growing new space ecosystem and focuses on using satellite technology to address environmental challenges facing South America and the wider world.
